The Code for Construction Product Information Welcomes the Building Safety Act Receiving its Royal Assent

The Building Safety Act receiving its royal assent has been welcomed by the Code for Construction Product Information and Building a Safer Future.

The two independent voluntary schemes have been created to help drive crucial culture change across the construction sector, to put building safety first. Both schemes are also directly aligned to, and support key elements of the Building Safety Act and provide an independent mechanism for organisations to prepare for, and go beyond the letter of the law to drive the required culture change.

Amanda Long, Chief Executive of Building a Safer Future and the Code for Construction Product Information said:

“The journey to get to this point, and the twists and turns along the way, have been well documented. However, royal assent for the Act is an incredibly significant further step in seeking to change the building safety landscape.”
