CHIC steps forward as the first leading asset management and procurement consortium to join CCPI Demand-Side Supporters
Leading asset management and procurement consortium ‘Communities and Investment Housing Consortium’ (CHIC) has stepped up to be the first procurement framework provider to join Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI) Demand-Side Supporters. CHIC is a not for profit member owned consortium providing asset management and procurement support delivering efficiencies and social value for its 300+ social housing association members.
CCPI is delighted to welcome CHIC to join the growing community of leading organisations – including major housebuilders, developers and contractors, manufacturers, suppliers as well as insurers – who all join CCPI in its important mission to drive a transformational step-change in product information management and marketing across the built environment.
Amanda Long, Chief Executive of CPI Ltd, the not-for-profit organisation set-up to guard the CCPI and assess CCPI conformance said, ‘I warmly welcome CHIC as the first organisation delivering procurement services to its social housing members to step up and support CCPI. As I also have the honour of Chairing CHIC, I am proud and delighted that the CHIC board has made the decision to support this important initiative. I believe it is critical to show leadership and for each of us to play our part to raise standards across the industry in product information management and marketing thereby supporting building safety and much needed culture change to one of greater transparency and accountability. These are critical learnings from the Grenfell Tower tragedy which must not be ignored. It is crucial to proactively support the important work CCPI is delivering to drive the industry towards product information that can be greater relied upon. This is particularly important for duty-holders in building safety, such as social housing providers, who have responsibilities to deliver safe and compliant buildings. The growth of CCPI Demand-side Supporters strongly signals CCPI as a ‘must have’ for businesses that want to be part of the future of the industry. I invite and look forward to other procurement frameworks and service providers following CHIC’s lead. Watch this space for more announcements to come of demand-side organisations stepping up to support CCPI’.
John Fisher, Chief Executive of CHIC said ‘I am delighted that CHIC’s member representative board has supported our initiative to join the CCPI Demand-Side Supporters. As a leading Asset Management and Procurement consortium working across the affordable housing sector, our underlying objective is to make homes safe and warm for our members residents. We work closely with suppliers, merchants, consultants and contractors in collaboration with our members, so together we can ensure that there is transparency around the selection of the right products in all the construction related activities we support. Engaging with CCPI will help us all to improve the standards the sector delivers to for the good of the people who live in our members homes.’
CCPI Demand Side Supporters are leading organisations who have pledged support for the Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI) and committed to use their influence in the built environment supply ecosystem to drive CCPI conformance and raise standards in the industry. CHIC will be working with the CCPI to implement the Supporter Pledge as soon as possible and, where possible, facilitate tangible uptake of CCPI throughout out its customer and partner audience and supply base over the next 3 years.
