CCPI Code for Construction Product Information

Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists becomes CCPI Organisation Associate.

March 16, 2026

Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists becomes CCPI Organisation Associate.

The Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI) has welcomed the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) as a CCPI Organisation Associate.

As an Organisation Associate, CIAT is committing to support and promote the Code for Construction Product Information and its registration and assessment process across its membership and professional network. This reflects a shared commitment to improving the quality, clarity and integrity of construction product information used across the built environment.

The CCPI was created to promote an urgent and positive culture and behaviour change in the way the construction product manufacturing industry manages and provides information and marketing on its products. It was initiated and developed by the Construction Product Association (CPA) in consultation across the built environment sector as a direct response to Dame Judith Hackitt’s review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety, set up in the wake of the Grenfell Tower tragedy. The CCPI is managed by CPI Ltd, the independently run, not-for-profit organisation established to oversee the Code and its assessment process.

While Trade Associates are typically sector trade bodies representing product manufacturers or distributors, Organisation Associates are professional bodies, institutions and other industry organisations that wish to formally demonstrate their support for the principles and objectives of the CCPI. Through this status, Organisation Associates help raise awareness of the importance of clear, accurate, up-to-date and unambiguous product information and encourage engagement with the Code across the wider industry.

CIAT is the leading professional membership and qualifying body for Architectural Technology. It represents Chartered Architectural Technologists and professionals involved in the technical design, specification and delivery of buildings. Architectural Technologists play a key role in interpreting, assessing and applying construction product information within project delivery, making the reliability and clarity of that information critical to safe and compliant outcomes.

Amanda Long, Chief Executive of CPI Ltd, the not-for-profit independently governed organisation set up to manage the CCPI, said:

“We welcome the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists as a CCPI Organisation Associate. Architectural Technologists are central to the specification and technical coordination of construction products, and the clarity and accuracy of product information directly affects their ability to make informed decisions. CIAT’s support reinforces the importance of raising standards in construction product information across the entire built environment.”

Through this association, CIAT will support awareness of the CCPI and its objectives within its professional community. The CCPI continues to work collaboratively across the supply chain to build back trust in construction product information and marketing and to support meaningful and lasting culture change.

CCPI now has over 150 registered organisations working with the Code to raise their standards of product information, and over 150 product sets on the market carrying the unique CCPI Mark (representing some 3000 products), awarded to product information that meets the requirements of the Code.
